They came out with their first single in 1998 (‘Buses and Trains’) which was a hit not just in Australia but in Asia, Scandinavia and the US and is ‘credited as the most played Australian composition in the last 25 years’.
‘Buses and Trains’ was followed by a number of other hits including ‘Treat Me Good’, ‘Lucky Me’ and ‘Permission to Shine’ from their album ‘Waiting For The Day’.
Since hitting the charts the pop/rock duo has backed a range of huge acts including The Eurythmics, Simple Minds, The Goo Goo Dolls, John Farnham and Icehouse and they are planning to release a celebratory 25th anniversary album early next year.
Courtesy of Wynnum Fringe, Bachelor Girl will be appearing in the Augathella Spiegeltent on Friday 12th September as the first in a series of live shows over summer called the ‘Wynnum Fringe Encore Season’.
Although as this went to press first release tickets have sold out, there are still second release tickets available.
