Illuminations Festival – three things that won’t be at the festival

Here are three things that won’t be at the festival…

  1. Balloons (apart from one very large one of course) – this year, in order to minimise any possible harm to marine life in the bay, we are not allowing any balloons at the event.
  2. Alcohol – the festival is a family event and as such there will be no alcohol at the festival. The Waterloo Bay Hotel is holding the official afterparty and that’s where you’ll be able to get a drink if you’d like one!
  3. Naked flames – all lanterns must be lit without naked flames. The organisers suggest small torches or LED lights.
