As reported in our previous article the local Wynnum chamber of commerce (CCIQ Brisbane Bayside) announced its intention to close and called an extraordinary meeting of members last month to pass a resolution to that effect. Unfortunately due to some technicalities of the process raised at the meeting, a final decision has been delayed.
In order to close the chamber outstanding debts need to be paid off, which amount to $100 per current member or alternatively around $1,000 per board member.
Another meeting will need to be called to finalise these proceedings, although it seems inevitable that the chamber will close after 64 years.
We will keep you updated. In the meantime, take our survey on the chamber and whether Wynnum needs a business association…
