CANCELLED – 2026 Wynnum Halloween Parade & Festival not going ahead due to weather

UPDATE

Within hours of publishing this article and sending it out via our ENEWS email we heard that the Wynnum Halloween Parade & Festival had been cancelled. Here is an excerpt from the post to the official Facebook page which was posted 16 hours ago…

EVENT CANCELLED: WYNNUM AMPOL HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL — SATURDAY 31 OCTOBER
This is a post we truly hoped we wouldn’t have to write.
With heavy hearts, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s Wynnum Ampol Halloween Festival following the recent wet weather and the condition of George Clayton Park.
The grounds are heavily saturated, and Brisbane City Council has raised concerns about potential damage to the park, particularly from bringing rides and heavy equipment onto the site. As disappointing as this is, we need to protect this beautiful community space.
We know how much everyone was looking forward to coming together. From families planning their costumes to stallholders, performers, volunteers and businesses preparing for the day, so much enthusiasm and hard work has gone into this festival.
We sincerely apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience this cancellation causes. We understand the time, effort and expense involved, and we share your disappointment.

FYI this was posted within hours (or maybe minutes) of us checking that it was going ahead and at the point we scheduled the email update it was still proceeding.
