It’s seems like a while ago now, but the inaugural Wynnum Seafood Festival on Saturday 22nd October was a great hit. Estimates put the number of people who came along at anything between 10,000 and 15,000 and the festival showed off what is possible for a fun event in Wynnum, with not only the main street being devoted to seafood vendors, but the laneways converted into music venues and bars.
In fact many of the seafood stalls must have slightly underestimated turnout – some ran out of seafood quite quickly.
The organisers and sponsors of the event – Niclin Developments – are saying that it will be ‘bigger and better’ next year. We’re looking forward to it already.
