Beach Volleyball coming back to the Wading Pool

Kicks off Sat 30th June

Wynnum Central Beach Volleyball is coming back to the sand arena of the Wynnum Wading Pool while it is drained over Winter. Four beach volleyball courts will be set up in what will be called the ‘Wading Pool Arena’, with play free to local schools on weekdays and free to recreational players at the weekend.

The program runs from Sat 30th June until Sunday 12th August, with the courts open 11am-3pm every day during the school holidays (30th June-15th July). On the weekends of 21/22 July, 28/29 July, 4/5 August and 11/12 August families and visitors can take part in a trial free ‘fun & friendly’ game of beach volleyball.

The season is presented by Brisbane City Council and sponsored by Dial Before You Dig, and Olympic Beach Volleyball Gold Medallist Natalie Cook is the Event Ambassador.

On Friday 29th June local car dealership Bartons is sponsoring a special Beach Party in the Wading Pool for 280 guests. Tickets are available (including a 3 hour beverage package and cocktail food) and funds raised will support Live Out Loud, the Nat Cook Foundation, which is all about tackling childhood obesity. Tickets are $128 per person or $550 for a table of four reserved seating.

As last year there will also be the Battle of Waterloo, a beach volleyball competition, with schools playing on Sunday 29th June and the ‘Clubs Challenge’ and ‘King & Queen Pro-Am Challenge’ on Sunday 12th August.
