Call for artists for Wynnum Art Trail

We are looking at setting up a WynnumCentral Art Trail soon as a regular event in Wynnum on a Sunday. It’ll be an art trail with a difference. The idea is to offer artists ‘pitches’ outside all of the empty shops in Wynnum (there’s around 30 of them) and put together a little map showing who is where.

Just to add a bit of fun we’ll be inviting people to take part in a sort of draw. When you arrive you go the organiser’s desk where you’ll be given an outsized post-it note which has “If I win…” printed on it. We write your name and mobile phone number on this and give it to you. You then walk around the trail and stick your post-it note to the artwork* you’d like to win if your post-it note is the chosen one at the end of the day. So you’ll have a vested interest in checking out all of the artists, not just browsing a few!

Many people would love to have original art in their homes, but just can’t afford it. Now perhaps you can win it.

We would like to encourage artists, not just local artists but artists from further afield, perhaps even interstate, to take part in the Art Trail. Cost of a pitch for the day will be just $15. The day would run from 8am to 2pm.
