Co-working in Wynnum

It’s probably a bit much to call it a craze, but it’s certainly a trend. As more of the workforce ends up working away from the office, either in an employed role, or moving away from employment to self employment, the initial freedom and fun of not working in an office environment can get a bit stale and you end up craving human company and the proverbial catch up at the watercooler.

Co-working may be the answer. It’s where teleworkers come together and work together, not necessarily actually with each other, but certainly in close physical proximity! A recent impromptu co-working event in a Melbourne laneway (as reported here on the smartcompany website) saw 120 people co-working. Co-working spaces are also popping up here and there to give people working from home another option from time to time.

The Wynnum Chamber is hosting a co-working day on Friday 15th November and then another one on Friday 29th November, from 9am to midday on both days. If you’d like to give it a go call Jac at the Chamber on 07 3893 2628 or email her – [email protected]. The Chamber offices are in Florence Street in Wynnum.
