Preparations are well underway for the inaugural Remax Advantage Illuminations Festival – here is a photo of steering committee member Cam Macfarlane putting together the fire sculpture designed by locally based artist Daniele Lamarche-Sarvia, which will be lit on Pandanus Beach after dusk at the festival.
An important part of the festival is the Lantern Parade, and the festival is allowing for up to 1,000 children to participate in the parade, from the old Wynnum Central School site, down Edith Street to the wading pool.
If your child or children would like to participate in the parade, you can register them (at no charge) via the registration button below. This registration is for children only (so please do not register yourself here) and please also register each child participating – there will be a free lantern for each child who registers in advance. You are of course welcome also to bring your own lantern, which you can decorate ahead of time, and there will also be some lanterns available for purchase.

Also, there are still some spots available in the market, which will be running from midday to 9pm at the waterfront. If you would like to apply for a spot, download the application form, complete and return to us…
