The Hire A Hubby national convention recently recognised Wynnum local and expert handyman Tim Spreadborough as the ‘National Franchisee of the Year’. Tim received the unique honour ahead of 300 franchisees after achieving 25 per cent business growth over the past 12 months.
Tim also won the ‘Most Valuable Franchisee’ award for the second time for the support he provided to fellow Queensland franchisees, but it was his business excellence that led to him taking out the top award. The national title is reserved for franchisees demonstrating business excellence as well as commitment to the franchise network.
Absolutely delighted to win the award, Tim considers it as recognition that he is building a successful business while keeping a balanced lifestyle. He had also won the Most Valuable Franchisee award last year.
In his sixth year with the property maintenance franchise, an increased focus on customer service and generating new jobs saw Tim boost turnover to almost $500,000. He now has three subcontractors working for him, which allows him to focus on the business and generate newer and larger jobs.
Operating on a philosophy that there’s no job too big or too small, his franchise helps locals with everything from installing towel racks through to detailed carpentry work. He has been able to establish a base of around 100 regular clients across residential, commercial and real estate markets.
As one of the more experienced guys in Queensland, Tim often gets called upon to take prospective franchisees out with him on the road to show them what it’s all about. He is also involved in their Enterprise Support Group, a group of 15 top performing ‘Hubbies’ who get together to share business experiences in order to improve the overall network.
Hire A Hubby CEO Brendan Green said the ‘National Franchisee of the Year’ title wasn’t to be taken lightly as it recognises their top franchisee across multiple parameters including business performance, brand representation and contribution to the franchise system.
He also described Tim as an incredible asset to have in the Hire A Hubby network.
