Wynnum goes lantern crazy

With just over a week until the 2016 Illuminations Festival on the Wynnum Manly foreshore on Saturday 18th June, it’s fair to say that Wynnum has gone a bit lantern crazy.

Member businesses of WynnumCentral are proudly displaying an array of the floating lanterns that will once again make an appearance in the Wading Pool at the start of the lantern parade, and quite literally hundreds of young kids at schools and kindergartens in the area have been busy making lanterns for the parade (over 500 ready to go at last count).

This year the lantern parade will take a slightly different route, starting at the Wading Pool and finishing up at George Clayton Park where most of the entertainment will be located and finishing up with a fireworks display over Moreton Bay.

For full information on what is planned for the day, visit the events page on the official Illuminations Festival website…
