Last chance today to vote for street artworks for WynnumCentral

As part of the $500,000 refurbishment of Wynnum Central, Brisbane City Council is asking residents to vote for one of two possible artworks, to be positioned on the corner of Florence Street and Bay Terrace early next year.

To vote, visit the Brisbane City Council website – www.brisbane.qld.gov.au (this should take you straight to the page – if not go to the main site and search for ‘Wynnum SCIP’).

Although at WynnumCentral we have questioned the use to which the $500,000 has been put, with many people agreeing that there were better things that the money could have been used for (public toilet for Edith Street, anyone?), we believe that this artwork does represent money well spent and will contribute to what Council refers to as the current ‘revival’ of Wynnum Central.

Voting closes today, Friday 18th September.
