Travel to London, Paris, even Brisbane and there are tourist shops where you can buy little gifts or mementoes either for yourself or for people back home. Who would have thought that Wynnum would have its own ‘tourist shop’?
Well it does now – but not really in the conventional sense of the word!
Sonny Jim’s in Edith Street, which bills itself as ‘the emporium for discerning fellas’ now stocks a range of Wynnum themed t-shirts in addition to its wide range of men’s clothing, accessories and gifts.
Owner Karen (pictured left) added Wynnum t-shirts to the clothing range a while back for a bit of fun and has been surprised with how popular they’ve been. So popular that she recently expanded the range, with a wider variety of colours and designs, all including reference to Wynnum of course.
Although the shirts pretty much end the range of Wynnum-themed items, there is one more… Sonny Jim’s also now stocks Wynnum postcards (see image left), so you can let everyone know where you’ve been!
