The WynnumCentral team popped into one of the newer op shops in Wynnum recently, which has an important focus – helping to end domestic violence (DV).
Based at 1/63 Edith Street (previously the home of LoanCrew – and before that the Crystal Rose Gallery), it has a wide range of op shop bargains for a relatively small space.
The counter gives away the commitment to DV, with a box (pictured) where you can donate your old phone which is then converted to a ‘safe phone’ – a ‘powerful tool that empowers domestic violence victims to feel safe and stay connected when needed most’.
The shop also runs meetings from time to time – including a ‘Too tough to talk’ meeting coming up next Tuesday 23rd September (details below).
